Commonly confused
- A person’s birthplace, nationality and the place most associated with their work may differ.
- Patron saints’ days belong to different UK nations and fall on different dates.
- A bank holiday is not automatically observed in exactly the same way across all four countries.
Exam traps
- Do not choose a famous name simply because it belongs to the right period; match the person to the correct field.
- Look for the nation named in the question before selecting a custom, symbol or place.
