Volunteering and Supporting Your UK Community
Study volunteering, community organisations, school governance and practical ways to contribute to local life in the UK.
Section 5.8.1
How you can support your community
Volunteering can support charities, schools, health services, sport, conservation and neighbourhood projects. Roles may be regular or occasional and should match the volunteer’s time, skills and safeguarding requirements.
People can also serve their communities through school governance, blood or organ donation, jury service when summoned, and participation in local organisations.
Use current national volunteering services, local councils or recognised charities to find roles. Avoid relying on discontinued programme names or archived web addresses.
